Nothing says Christmas like the sweet and savory perfection of a glazed ham!
Quite honestly, its the absolute highlight of my day (especially pregnent)
The caramelized crust, the tender juicy meat, and that mouthwatering aroma filling the house—it’s the taste of togetherness and tradition. I love a very sweet ham so naturally im going for maple!! Our family enjoy that ham for days after xmas!! Each bite is pure holiday magic. Gather your loved ones, slice it up, and make memories that last forever.
Here is my favourite basic recipe. Nothing over the top.
Main thing-Make it sweet, and make it sticky!
INGREDIENTS
¾ cup maple syrup
½ cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons dijon mustard
1 tablespoon orange zest
1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary leaves
1 tablespoon coarsely ground black pepper
1 bone-in, fully cooked, ham of your choice -at room temperature
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 150 degrees C. Line a dish with foil and lightly coat with butter.
In a bowl, whisk together maple syrup, brown sugar, Dijon, orange zest, rosemary and pepper.
Rip off the skin and place ham fat side up, you can shave as much fat off as you desire. I love heaps of fat. Pop the prepared baking dish. Brush evenly with 1/4 cup maple syrup mixture.
Place into oven, brushing with remaining maple syrup mixture every 30 minutes, until cooked through! About 2 hours 30 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes.
Serve all week!!
Enjoy & Merry Christmas from my family to yours.
Lots of love.
